Wild Osmanthus Burkwoodii Flower Tea: The Best Herb for Anxiety, Depression, and Insomnia.

Osmanthus is a genus of thirteen species of flowering plants in the olive family, Oleaceae. It contains only evergreen trees and shrubs found in southern China, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam and throughout the Malay Archipelago. A tea made from wild osmanthus flowers is an herb that has been used for centuries to treat numerous health conditions ranging from anxiety to insomnia.

1. What is wild osmanthus burkwoodii flower tea?

Wild osmanthus burkwoodii flower tea is a type of tea that is made from the flowers of the wild osmanthus burkwoodii plant. This plant, which is native to Taiwan, has fragrant flowers that are used to make a tea that has a sweet, refreshing taste.

The plant is robust in form and can reach heights of 20 feet or more. The large foliage is glossy, green, and sparkly, and the marked catena ribs have distinct lavender-red tips. A typical plant is found thriving on hillsides along streamsides and water courses.

Wild tea is considered a status symbol in many rural and nearby areas, as many tea gardens are located along lanes and pathways, typically reserved for households across the archipelago. There is also a rich folklore surrounding the plant, as it is said that tea consumption was heavily influenced by the four seasons.

Osmanthus tea started to be cultivated in the 19th century when British surveillance began to decline due to the influence of the Industrial Revolution and increasing nationalism. By the 1940s, hundreds of hectares of wild tea had been planted throughout southern China. In the 1950s, there were even more than 100,000 hectares of wild osu was growing throughout the country. Official efforts to promote indigenous tea production came in the 1970s with the establishment of indigenous tea research institutes in Taiwan.

In the 1980s, a number run just 30,000 plants, and there were only two locations left in the entire island of Taiwan. There has been an almost continuous decline of wild osu since that time. By 2004, wild tea production had nearly ceased and the only species left in the wild is the osu wasabi. These days, there are only a few limited locations left in Taiwan.

Originally from the region of Sichuan in southern China, osu bush were originally cultivated as medicine plants in the spring for the treatment of a disease called “Western tiger pilar rot,” which is common among people on the steppes.

2. How does wild osmanthus burkwoodii tea work for anxiety and insomnia?

Wild osmanthus burkwoodii tea is the world’s most expensive tea as it’s made from the rare wild osmanthus flower. The flower is hand-picked in China’s Zhejiang province, where it grows at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level. Each flower yields 6–8 seeds. After growing, the young seeds are hand-chopped into small pieces and fermented for 4–6 weeks to make tea. The wild flower yields an abundance of flavor packed into each cup, with an intense aroma and an earthy flavor. The favorited type of tea is incredibly expensive, but the flower itself tends to grow wild on hillsides throughout China and is only harvested when there’s only a handful of plants left. There are methods to prepare it, but most people that I’ve surveyed have found it best to enjoy the tea while it’s in leaf.

When folks think of teas, they often imagine Menghai or Yanchun, China’s largest city and two of the most-populated cities in the world. Gin may be synonymous with Japanese cuisine, but in terms of tea and the general global consumption, the originator of Chinese tea was as improbable as gin and tonic. Oolong, the yellowish-green shade of tea leaves, draws inspiration from Japan’s traditional tea ceremony, but the process is completely different.

Tea ceremony is an ancient cultural practice; it’s not uncommon for tea to have been part of longevity and nutrition for thousands of years. In China, the tradition matters more than water or stars. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) advocates consuming tea every day, for both health and happiness. For this reason, the woods that contribute to this special yellow tea are justly prized and it is possible to grow wild tea in many countries. In addition, it is the essence of a tea ceremony that determines its price, often exceeding $100/pound.

3. How does wild osmanthus burkwoodii tea work for depression?

Osmanthus burkwoodii is a plant that has been used in Chinese medicine for a long time. The plant is often used to treat the symptoms of depression. However, there isn’t much scientific evidence to support this use.

1IT CAN REDUCE STRESS RESPONSE

Skeptics might say that although all these benefits occur in experiment after experiment, it’s too soon to infer effective treatment from so little evidence. In reality, the bigger the study, the more compelling the results. All those years of practicing acupressure—a form of Chinese medicine based on the principle of connecting directly with the nervous system (the roots and shoots of plants)—on a part-time basis led Fachler to test this heat- and electrical-focused theory. If the fundamental cause of an anxiety disorder can be understood and managed with a new way of stimulating the nervous system, surely we could do something similar for more serious mental health issues.

2IT MAY PROMOTE LOWER MAINTENANCE NOI

There is abundant evidence that the front line of the health maintenance economy—the home—is where the economic activity and sales occur. People talk about finding a home that’s affordable, delivers a good quality of life for its size, and is thriving in terms of amenities. Secondly, people talk about where they live. The subjective well-being of a home strongly influences its ranking for a wide range of economic, sociological and psychological criteria. The latter part of the phrase, the “well-being of a home”, is a difficult concept for real estate agents to quantify analytically, but it is everywhere in the mind of the buyers who are taking on the challenge of creating their dream home.

3IT MAY IMPROVE SLEEP QUALITY AND QUALITY OF SLEEP

Some traditional Chinese medicine practices rely on using medicinal herbs to improve the consistency of signals from the brain to the body that maintain sleep. The same concept seems to apply to how we relax at night.
